If powdery spots affect your plants, the leaves can turn brown. Amy from A healthy life for me has a great remedy for this common problem.

She suggests an organic remedy that uses cow’s milk.

Mix 1 part milk with 9 parts water and sprinkle the stems and leaf tops with the solution. You should reapply even after rain. Another great way to control powdery mildew is with the homemade spray recipe we included in the pin above.

She also says yYou can try to prevent powdery mildew by spraying the leaves with a mixture of 1 teaspoon of baking soda in 1 quart of water.

This increases the pH and creates an undesirable environment for powdery mildew. For PH levels, zucchinis should have a soil PH on the order of 6-7. You should also harvest when the plants are small. This results in a tastier harvest.

Since zucchini don’t keep their taste for long, they should be used within a week of harvesting. Keep them in the refrigerator until you are ready to use them.
