W.We’re excited to share this fabulous Ziplock Bread In A Bag recipe from our friends at Recipe lion. It’s a really ingenious way to knead your bread that is super fast and a lot of fun.

All you need is a few simple ingredients and you can make bread and rolls with this recipe. There’s no mess and you get a nice fluffy result that can rival the bakery!

Bread in ziplock ingredients

  • 5 cups of bread flour plus 2 tablespoons for kneading
  • 1 tablespoon of RapidRise yeast (do not replace normal yeast)
  • 3 tablespoons of sugar
  • 1 1/ 2 teaspoons of salt
  • 2 cups of water
  • 3 tablespoons of butter

Bread in a Ziploc bag recipe

Using a gallon sized ziplock bag, add the yeast, sugar, and salt. Shake the bag to mix everything together.

Make sure your water is warm enough to test the yeast by heating it in the microwave for 1 minute. It should be around 120 degrees F.

Add the water and butter to your pocket mix and zip the top shut. Knead with both hands until everything is well mixed.

Add 2 more cups of flour and knead again. Finally, add the last cup of flour and knead until the dough no longer sticks to the bag.

Sprinkle a cup of flour over a clean counter or tabletop to further knead your dough.

Knead well 15 to 29 times until you get a smooth, elastic dough.

Spray the top of your dough with cooking spray and cover with plastic wrap. Let it rest for 10 minutes until it looks puffy.

Remove the packaging and beat out the dough.

To make loaves of bread, spray two 9 by 4 inch bread pans with cooking spray. Divide the dough into two portions.

Use a rolling pin or your hands to roll one of your pieces of dough into a square about 9 by 9 inches.

Tightly roll the dough into a log and pinch the ends to seal it.

Repeat with the other half of the dough.

To make buns, spray two 8 by 8 inch pans with cooking spray. Divide your dough into two servings.

Loosely roll each piece into a 2-inch wide log and divide it into 12 equal pieces.

Roll each piece into a ball and press the edges together to seal them.

Repeat with the other half of the dough.

Cover either the bread pan or buns with plastic wrap that has been sprayed with cooking spray.

Let them rest in a warm place for about 30 minutes.

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees.

Bake loaves for 30-35 minutes, roll for 25-30 minutes until the tips are golden brown.

Fully baked bread shows about 200 degrees Fahrenheit on an internal reading thermometer.
